Laser welding is an extremely precise welding technique that uses concentrated high-power laser light. At Tumag, we primarily use this welding technique for repairing mold parts. The piece to be repaired is prepared and cleaned, after which we add material with high precision to the damaged area.
The reason we choose this joining technique at Tumag is due to the advantages of laser welding. Compared to other welding methods, laser welding produces a smaller molten pool, which minimizes the heat-affected zone. This results in less distortion and discoloration of the material, reducing the need for post-processing to a minimum. Therefore, laser welding is highly suitable for repair work.
