What is the difference between deep-hole drilling and deep drilling?
Both terms refer to the same technique. “Langgatboren” is the commonly used Dutch term; “diepgatboren” is often used in technical and industrial contexts. At Tumag, we use both terms interchangeably.
Which materials can be machined?
Tumag machines a wide range of materials, including steel, stainless steel, aluminium, titanium and plastics. The choice of material also determines the tool selection and machining strategy.
How is straightness guaranteed at great drilling depths?
Tumag works with specialised, high-precision machines specifically equipped for deep-hole drilling. Does Tumag also supply complete precision components or only drilling work?
At Tumag, deep-hole drilling is usually applied as part of the complete machining process of a precision component. We support the component from raw material to finished product, with deep-hole drilling being one of the operations within a broader precision mechanical machining process. At the customer’s request, however, we can also carry out drilling work only on existing or externally machined components.
