Because we carry out both turning and milling in-house, such a component moves through one continuous process from lathe to milling machine, without external subcontracting. When turning and milling need to be performed in a single setup, this is known as turn-milling.

Which materials can Tumag machine?

We specialise in machining a wide range of materials. This ranges from standard aluminium and stainless steel to highly alloyed tool steels, titanium and engineering plastics. Thanks to our experience in mould making, we are particularly skilled in machining hardened materials with extremely tight tolerances.

What technical specifications and tolerances can I expect for the machining of my parts?

  • CNC Turning: the standard for cylindrical components where we guarantee extremely tight tolerances of up to 0,005 mm.

  • CNC Milling: for complex 3D geometries, we use advanced 3-, 4- and 5-axis machining, allowing us to produce even the most challenging shapes from a single piece of material.

  • HSM Milling (High Speed Machining): specially for hardened materials. With spindle speeds up to 42.000 RPM, we achieve an ultra-smooth finish that often makes manual post-processing unnecessary.

  • Deep hole drilling: for deep, perfectly straight holes where we achieve impressive L/D ratios of up to 100x the diameter without deviations in straightness.

What is the difference between turning and milling, and turn-milling?

Turning and milling refers to turning and milling as two separate operations performed together on a single component, usually on separate machines. Turn-milling is a specific technique in which turning and milling are carried out in one setup on the same machine, eliminating repositioning errors. Tumag provides both, depending on the geometry and required tolerances.

Is Tumag certified for quality management?
