Micron-level precision in quality control for demanding industries
Reliable measurements and measurement reports for critical components
In demanding sectors such as the medical industry, aerospace and the high-tech industry, precision is an absolute requirement. That is why quality control at Tumag is an integral part of the entire production process. During our in-house production – such as after milling, sink EDM or grinding – we perform intermediate measurements to detect and correct deviations at an early stage, followed by precise final inspection before delivery. Using advanced measuring equipment and a climate-controlled measuring room, we guarantee measurements down to micron level, fully compliant with applicable standards. In addition, you can also rely on us for independent quality measurements and detailed measurement reports for external components.
From high-end moulds and complex cutting tools to precision components: we deliver measurement results you can rely on.
Accurate measurements as the foundation of quality
To measure is to know. This principle forms the foundation of our quality control. As products are manufactured with increasing precision and complexity, the demands on measuring instruments and inspection processes also rise.
During the production of precision components, intermediate measurements are an essential step. Through continuous inspection, we prevent deviations and ensure consistent quality. All components also undergo thorough final inspection before delivery.
We provide our customers with:
-
Detailed measurement reports
-
Full traceability of measurements
-
Inspections according to international standards
-
Reliable quality assurance
Our specialists inspect, among others:
-
Form and positional tolerances
-
Surface roughness
-
Material hardness

Investing in precision and reliability
As a precision tooling and mould manufacturer, we at Tumag fully understand the importance of high-quality measuring equipment. By continuously investing in advanced measurement technologies, we enhance:
-
The quality of our products
-
The efficiency of our processes
-
The reliability of our deliveries
-
The lead time of projects
This enables us to elevate our high-precision moulds and parts to an even higher level.

Climate-controlled measuring room for maximum accuracy
To ensure extremely precise measurements, Tumag operates a fully climate-controlled measuring room. Temperature fluctuations can have a significant impact on measurement results.
Thanks to this controlled environment:
-
Measurements comply with international standards
-
Temperature-related deviations are eliminated
-
Measurement accuracy remains consistent
This forms the ideal foundation for reliable quality control.

Frequently Asked Questions about quality control (FAQ)
What types of measurements can you perform?
We perform various measurements on precision components and mould components, including:
-
Dimensional inspections
-
Form and positional tolerances
-
Point measurements and scanning measurements
-
Surface roughness measurements
-
Hardness measurements
-
Comparisons with technical drawings or CAD data
This allows us to accurately inspect both simple and complex geometries.
What temperature is maintained in the measuring room?
Our measuring room is climate-controlled at 20°C (±1°C), in accordance with international measurement standards (ISO). This constant temperature is crucial to prevent thermal expansion of materials and to ensure reliable measurement results.
Can you also measure complex 3D shapes?
Yes. Thanks to our Mitutoyo STRATO-Apex 9166 CMM, we can also measure complex 3D geometries and free-form surfaces. Both individual points and full contours can be inspected, which is particularly valuable for components with high precision requirements.
Do you also perform measurements on components not produced at Tumag?
Yes, in addition to quality control of our own production, we also perform external measurements. Companies can rely on us for independent quality control, component validation and detailed measurement reports, even when the parts were not produced by Tumag.
After the measurements, we can provide a detailed measurement report. Depending on the requirements, this may include:
-
Measured dimensions and tolerances
-
Deviations from drawings or specifications
-
Reporting of form and positional tolerances
-
Results of surface or hardness inspections
-
Clear documentation for internal or external quality tracking
What is the maximum accuracy of your measurements?
Our measurement systems achieve an accuracy of up to 0.7 micrometers (0.0007 mm). This makes us suitable for applications where extremely tight tolerances are required, such as in high-tech and precision industries.
